MEP Engineer

MEP engineering is the science and art of planning, designing and managing the MEP systems of a building. An MEP design company specializes in those skills. Also known as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering consulting firms, they are important across all stages of the construction process. They assist with decision making, cost estimation, construction administration, documentation, building management, and building maintenance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) engineering design review, coordination, code input and construction technical support for all company projects ranging from code corrections, minor and major renovations, systemic replacement projects, and new or replacement projects.
  • Responsible for implementing mall preventative maintenance plan.
  • Responsible for Transformers, Medium and Low tension, MDB, Light Current Systems.
  • Supervising electrical jobs based on shop drawings and specifications
  • Preparing weekly and monthly progress reports and assess them against the project schedule
  • Ensuring the availability of adequate quantity of electrical material
  • Providing input to Quantity Surveyor for interim payment applications
  • Conducting safety tool box lecture to enforce safety regulations for individuals on the site
  • Raising inspection requests for work completed
  • Ensuring work is executed according to contract specifications, approved design drawings, agreed procedures, and method statements
  • Implementing strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
  • Reducing the wastage of material and increase manpower productivity
  • Interacting with client and consultant regarding the status of work
  • Completing necessary quality assurance documentation of work under direct control
  • Negotiating with client and consultant for obtaining approvals for requested modifications
  • Updating drawings to fit newly approved modifications for As-Built drawings
  • Checking all installations in preliminary stage
  • Support project Alive from MEP perspective the operations’ related elements of project Alive on time within budget with the required quality.
  • Effectively control the utilities consumption to achieve the required savings.
  • Responsible for keeping track of consumables provided for serving preventative and corrective maintenance, with the objective of maintaining costs within budget as well as ensuring that there is no stock out situation at any point of time which can lead to inconvenience for the visitors.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc reports, with the objective of keeping the management informed about all issues relating to housekeeping of mall and taking necessary action thereof.
  • Implement an effective roaster for MEP team to cover the mall operations 24/7.
  • Implement company health, safety and environment policy.
